Mexico based art director and illustrator John Raya took the 32 teams in the NFL and mixed them up with characters from the Star Wars universe to come up with a football league from a galaxy far, far away. Super Bowl XLVIII did not turn into the epic battle that the analysts predicted. Denver’s instantaneous poor performance, caused many fans to lose interest in what was happening on the field and turn their attention to the commercials. As a result, USA today’s Ad Meter received record highs for participation. While Seattle and the Legion of Boom dominated the game, Budweiser and Doritos made the most of their $4 million and dominated the polls for 2014’s best spot–here’s the five best and worst spots from last night.

ThePixelPainterHeaderHal Lasko, mostly known as Grandpa, is a 97-year-old man that uses Microsoft Paint from Windows ’95 to his create artwork. Lasko, who is legally blind, served in WWII drafting directional and weather maps for bombing raids and later worked as a typographer for clients such as General Tire, Goodyear and The Cleveland Browns before retiring in the 1970s. Decades after his retirement his family introduced him to Microsoft Paint and he never looked back.

Super Bowl XLVII is now one for the record books. The game is over, and will largely be forgotten once the hangovers and food comas have cleared. But water cooler discussions about the blackout and commercials will live on? Well, at least for a while. The month long College Bowl Season kicks off tomorrow afternoon (New Mexico Bowl: Wyoming vs. Temple) and today’s fodder hopefully spreads the college spirit. For their November 25th game against Arkansas, LSU equipped their cheerleaders with head mounted GoPro2 cameras. The video below let’s you see the routines and stadium from cheerleader’s perspective as she flips, flies, twists through the air.
